Maryellen, RDH, BS
Maryellen joined the practice in March 2008 and brings 15+ years of experience. She received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Rhode Island in 1996, and her Local Anesthesia permit in 2011. Maryellen is licensed in MA and RI and holds a permit to deliver local anesthesia in both states.
She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and is currently serving as Immediate Past President of the Rhode Island Dental Hygienists’ Association. She received the 2012 June Rockwell Levy Public Health Service Award for her work on the RI Oral Health Commission, as a steering committee member. Maryellen also serves on the Rhode Island Professional Advisory Council, and the Rhode Island Mission of Mercy, and is a Clinical Instructor in Dental Hygiene at the Community College of Rhode Island.
She is active in the community, providing oral health education to numerous schools in the East Bay area and she participates in Children’s Dental Health Month. She attends a variety of continuing education courses that keeps her on the cutting edge of her profession. Her particular area of interest is Periodontology (gum disease). She strives to give her patients as much information as she can in a 60 minute hygiene recall visit.
Maryellen lives in Bristol, RI with her husband and two children.
